
Consistency. Why is it so desirable?
Because we love our big comfy couch. We love what we know. We love to know what we can expect.
But dark alleys? No. Dark alleys are scary. What’s around the corner? Who knows? It’s scary.
When a business is inconsistent, it’s a dark alley. Customers don’t know what to expect. They’ve been kicked off their comfy couch into the unknown. And the unknown? It’s scary.
So, what do you do?
Build a culture of truth. No hiding. No runarounds.
Be clear. Simple language. Uncomplicated solutions.
Make the road straight. Don’t make getting results difficult.
Train it. Ensure everyone knows who you are and what you stand for. Ensure everyone knows how you would do it. Ensure everyone feels like an owner.
And most critically…
Be sure to do things the same way every time for everyone, no favorites.
That’s what consistency means. No surprises. No dark alleys. No scary stuff.
