Businesses are in the business of creating and delivering value.
I think most business leaders would be okay with that statement. But what does it really mean? What does it mean to create value?
Value is anything people need/want that helps them and benefits their lives in some way. If you’re a tailor, the value you deliver is a finely made, well-fitting suit. If you’re an artist, it is art that moves and inspires people. If you’re a blogger, it is content that provides information that answers questions, entertains, or teaches. All of that is value.
Providing this value is how you serve, or help, your customers. It is the key to your business.
So, it would seem prudent for businesses to get focused on service, the provision of value, and how well they do it if indeed they want to reap maximum rewards.
