Why bother to deliver extraordinary?

Why should I care? Why should I bother with making my work stand out? Why should I go above and beyond? I mean, it’s just a job.

Reason 1: self-respect

Reason 2: you sell yourself short by not pursuing it

Reason 3: you can only love what you do by giving love to the work

Reason 4: you build a reputation

Reason 5: you show up as a leader

Reason 6: you develop the life skill of self-discipline

Reason 7: you build character

Reason 8: you build competence

Reason 9: it makes you worthy of respect

Reason 10: it makes you worthy of trust

Reason 11: it demonstrates integrity

Reason 12: you bring more value

Reason 13: you build a foundation for the next opportunity

I could go on, but there’s really only one thing to think about: You can either be the best you can be, more than you even believe you can be…or you can be everybody else.

“Everyone has a chance to be a brand worthy of remark.” -Tom Peters
