Life is, in so many ways, a theater, where success lies in how we approach the journey, not in simply reaching the destination. And like great playwrights, we each hold the pen to our narrative. This is the fundamental underpinning of Elevate YOUr Work.
By moving away from the idea of work as a mere means to an end and instead viewing it as a stage for unique contribution and impact, each of us can take control of our lives. Essentially, we can create a legacy through our work, regardless of the role we play.
There are obstacles, however, and as an ongoing thread, this book confronts two of them: 1) that success is only possible under certain, ideal conditions—many out of our control—and 2) that happiness only comes when we are “doing what we love.” To explore these two myths and how to counter them by taking ownership of our actions and putting love into what we do, the book presents something called the WOW Box, which is essentially an alternative roadmap for finding fulfillment. In this “box,” readers will find a series of toolkits centered on 1) embracing their unique artistry, 2) making a difference for others, and 3) practicing professionalism.
Ultimately, the book urges people to see their work as an opportunity to deliver value, improve the world, and realize their full potential. It encourages readers to recognize their unique worth to make a positive impact and, by doing so, to not only elevate their work but to elevate themselves in the process.
