Five Leadership Habits for Inspiring a Service-Focused Culture

If you want to create better customer life, it starts inside your organization.

Since it is largely about behavior, it must be practiced and led. Here are five things leaders can do to kick start and maintain a service-focused culture.

  1. This week (and every week), thank an employee for a small act of helpfulness.
  2. This week (and every week), thank an employee for having a great attitude.
  3. This week (and every week), publicly recognize one of your team members for being helpful with another department.
  4. This week (and every week), publicly recognize a team member in another department for their helpfulness and/or great attitude.
  5. This month (and every month), invite a leader from another department or functional area to a team meeting to get their views.

*Many thanks to the mind of Tom Peters (tompeters.com) for inspiring this list.
