There’s a new year coming. Are you ready?
So many people and organizations start setting goals, making resolutions, and planning, and there is nothing wrong with it. In fact, it is critical for some because it gives them purpose and a finish line to chase.
However, keep one thing in mind when you are calculating all those numbers and setting what will constitute success at this time next year: “Not everything that can be counted counts. Not everything that counts can be counted.” -William Bruce Cameron.
There are a lot of things that are important in life and so many cannot be measured by any tangible tool. Take music for example. How can you measure what is good and what is not? The same goes for art, and friendship, and even love. How can we measure those? We can’t.
So, here’s your New Year tip. Don’t get so caught up in all the measurables that help us live that you forget the not-measurables (yeah, I made up that word) that are why we live.
Happy New Year! May you see great success and happiness.
